Lauren Daigle, a two-time GRAMMY Award winner, was honored this past weekend at a backstage gathering prior to a sold-out performance at Bridgestone Arena for the impact that both her music and philanthropy have had on millions of people worldwide. The Global Impact Honor, presented by the legendary singer/songwriter and musician Amy Grant, recognized Daigle as a genre trailblazer and ambassador – a role she’s embraced throughout her nearly decade-long, record-breaking career.

When presenting the award, Grant stated, “I’m so thrilled to be here tonight, and so proud of you.” You have literally impacted millions of people all over the world. This is the last night of a tour that has taken 20 months to complete, and during that time you have tirelessly shared your faith. So, for using your platform to share your faith in such an open way and welcoming millions of people around the world, for the work you’ve done having children sponsored, and for just using your gifts in such an amazing way, I’m proud to give you this honor.”

The influence of Daigle on the genre is undeniable. She has sold over one million concert tickets on three continents, including 170 sold-out headline shows, and has donated over $2 million from those sales to 25+ organizations. Her music has been streamed over 5,000 million times, and she has over 15 million followers on social media. She’s appeared on nearly every network morning, daytime, and late-night show, as well as numerous awards shows and competition shows such as The Voice, American Idol, and America’s Got Talent, a feat no other artist in the genre has achieved since Amy Grant’s breakthrough in the 1990s.Her music continues to connect with audiences from all walks of life, having spent 100 weeks at No. 1 with her GRAMMY Award-winning album Look Up Child and 132 weeks at No. 1 with her 4x Platinum selling single “You Say.” RIAA certifications were recently awarded to several songs from Daigle’s first Platinum-selling album, How Can It Be. The title track and “First” from the album have been certified Platinum, “Trust In You” has been certified 2x Platinum, and “Come Alive (Dry Bones)” and “O’Lord” have been certified Gold & Platinum. Her most recent single, “Hold On To Me,” is her fifth Billboard No. 1, extending her record for most No. 1s among female artists in the genre.
