Shane & Shane, a worship duo, are releasing a new album as part of their latest effort to share the Good News with children and their families.

Shane Barnard and Shane Everett explained how their latest release, Worship in the Word, came about in a recent interview with the Baptist Press.

“When we first started, we didn’t really know what to sing or do, so we were like, hey, I guess we’ll just sing the Bible,” Bernard told the outlet.

“We’ve just realized over the years that, man, I don’t have a lot to say. He has a lot. I mean, I can say things, but they aren’t active or alive. But I know what it is, and He’s proven it over and over in our own lives simply by singing the Scripture, “Bernard stated his case.

Shane & Shane’s Kingdom Kids initiative, which will provide biblical resources to children and their families, will make its debut with the album, which will be released on Friday (Jan. 28).

Worship In the Word will be supplemented by a streaming series launched on Tuesday by RightNow Media, a Bible study video library. Each episode includes a new album song, related teachings, corporate worship, and a Q&A session with children.

Shane & Shane’s latest work includes about ten songs, all of which were inspired by God’s Word. “Come and See (Psalm 66),” “Your Ways (Isaiah 55),” and “Yes and Amen (Ephesians 1)” are among the new songs.

“Because we’re all His children, I believe we can all enjoy these songs,” Everett told the Baptist Press. “As people watch and parents and children learn the truth of God’s Word, (I hope) that it will do what it has always done: transform hearts through the Holy Spirit and His Word.”

“Because we believe the Word of God is powerful, active, and capable of doing things we could never do.” That’s our hope for this project and this record,” Everett added. “Hopefully, people will remember all of the wonderful promises and truths from God’s Word that He has for us as children.”

Shane & Shane, who met at Texas A&M University, have released 40 biblically based albums and amassed over 613 million streams, more than 100 million YouTube views, and 2 million combined monthly Spotify and Apple Music listeners.

The worship duo’s album Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs, Vol. 1 was named the Best Christian Music of 2021 by the Gospel Coalition last year.

Shane and Shane are also the founders of The Worship Initiative, an online resource that works to equip worship leaders and their teams to praise God.
