Maverick City Music joins NPR Tiny Desk for a soul-stirring, hand-clapping concert today, backed by 10 choir members, two sets of keys, drums, guitar, and bass – all jammed in for one of the first Tiny Desk concerts to return to the office. According to NPR, “the NPR production staff was buzzing because we hadn’t recorded such a huge ensemble in our office in more than two years.” For the climax, the genre-bending music group is joined by 16-time Grammy winner Kirk Franklin, with whom Maverick City Music recently produced a collaboration album Kingdom Book One.
