LION, ELEVATION WORSHIP’S NEW ALBUM, IS NOW AVAILABLE!

Elevation Worship, the multi-GRAMMY® nominated, multi-GMA Dove Award® winning, and Billboard No. 1 charting band, releases LION yesterday.

The highly anticipated 15-track compilation combines high-energy power anthems with stripped-down quieter moments, blending studio and live recordings in an unusual way. LION is likely to take listeners on an inspirational journey, with songs that are appropriate for church, everyday worship, and personal thought.

Elevation Worship approached the album-making process with a whole new palette for their 14th release to date. Brown admits, “It wasn’t written or recorded like any previous album we’ve had.” “We didn’t begin composing with an album or a certain end objective in mind.”

We just started writing and recording songs over the year and ended up with this selection of tunes that we really liked.”

The album’s title, which features a gentle and immaculate lamb on the cover art, provides a glimpse into Christ’s conflict. “In the song ‘LION,’ there’s a verse that says, ‘Like a lamb you suffered, but the Lion has risen,'” explains Chris Brown, Elevation Worship’s worship leader and one of the band’s key songwriters. “In the most bizarre story twist, Jesus defeats death once and for all, but by crucifixion rather than a violent takeover. The Lion triumphs by sacrificing himself as a sacrificial lamb.”
