Brooke Ligertwood, a GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter, producer, and critically acclaimed artist, has released the second single “Nineveh” from her upcoming live solo album “SEVEN,” which can now be preordered. “Nineveh,” written by Ligertwood and Pastor Steven Furtick and released today on all digital platforms with an accompanying live performance video, is a narrative journey through the Biblical book of Jonah that concludes with a personal, individual challenge. The piano-driven anthem soars into “God have mercy” refrains that were written into the song from the beginning specifically for a choir to sing – a vision that is brought to life in both the audio and video recordings by a powerful live ensemble of voices.

“The ‘world’ of this song immediately sprung to life in my spirit when Pastor Steven Furtick messaged me in the spring of 2021 and said he and I should write a song called ‘Nineveh,’ and we began and completed this work a relatively short time later,” says Ligertwood.

“It’s a rare and deep joy to be able to write a song that closely examines a biblical narrative while also inviting the listener to allow the scripture to examine them,” Ligertwood adds. ‘Nineveh’ is one of those rare gems, and I’m proud to have co-written it with a songwriter and thinker I greatly admire – it was a joy from start to finish.”

Ligertwood is combining her two decades of experience as an artist/producer and her passion for serving the church with her new solo offering under Capitol CMG. After six mainstream albums with Sony Music under her maiden name “Brooke Fraser” and 17 years with Hillsong Worship, which she still leads globally, Ligertwood is combining her two decades of experience as an artist/producer and her passion for serving the church with her new solo offering under Capitol CMG.

“SEVEN,” which was recorded live in Nashville, TN, features all-new worship songs written by Ligertwood and her husband/longtime collaborator Scott, Jason Ingram (who co-produced the album with her), Pastor Steven Furtick, Brandon Lake, Phil Wickham, and others.

It includes a 30-piece choir, a band made up of talented musicians from across the modern worship movement (Hillsong, Bethel, Vineyard, Elevation), and a collection of stunning new prayer-soaked songs written and arranged in line with Ligertwood’s singular vision with Jesus at the center.

“Nineveh” comes after “A Thousand Hallelujahs,” which continues to have an impact on audiences all over the world. In just two weeks since its release, the debut single from “SEVEN” has racked up over 1.7 million global streams. The live performance video has already received over 645K views and is currently ranked No. 2 on Multitrack’s Top Songs chart. The full-length album by Ligertwood will be released on February 25.
