Katy Nichole, a singer/songwriter and new Centricity Music signee, has not only gone viral with the chorus to her debut single “In Jesus Name (God of Possible),” reaching well over 150 million people, but she has also reached the second highest position on iTunes’ overall Top Songs chart while remaining No. 1 on the iTunes Christian & Gospel chart since the song’s release.

Katy’s prayer journal, written in the midst of a global health crisis and in response to her own story of suffering, hope, and healing, was used to create this piece.

K-LOVE, Christian music’s largest radio network, has given “In Jesus Name (God of Possible)” a world premiere. The network was alerted to the viral song and played it unannounced during the afternoon drive show on Jan. 31.

K-LOVE host Scott Smith revealed before he and co-host Kelli Caldwell aired the song, “Never in the 40-years that KLOVE has been in existence [has this] ever happened before.” Katy’s entire introduction, as well as her raw, emotional excitement, was captured on camera and shared on social media. The video has since received over 2.3 million views, 381 thousand likes, and 14 thousand comments and shares on TikTok, as well as 1.8 million views, 59 thousand likes, and 14 thousand shares on the K-LOVE Facebook page.Following in the footsteps of K-LOVE, Air1 Radio Network and a slew of other stations have added the song to rotation across the country, making it the most added single at Christian AC radio this week. Katy was diagnosed with scoliosis and underwent surgery to straighten her spine before writing “In Jesus Name (God of Possible),” which resulted in persistent post-surgery pain that sent her into a bedridden mental and emotional spiral. Katy returned three years later for an operation to remove the metal rods and screws that had been implanted in her back.

“I went into the second surgery, and when I came out, the cloud of depression had vanished.” “In that moment, I met the Lord,” Katy recalls. “My spine was actually straighter when I got my X-rays after surgery than when the rods were in it.” So when I say God can perform miracles, I really mean it because I’ve witnessed it.”

Her recovery has inspired her to be an advocate for others facing health challenges, serving as an ambassador for the Shriners Hospitals for Children® and a volunteer for Musicians On Call. It’s also given her a fresh perspective on her music—and on life.

“There is no story that God does not care about. Katy declares, “Every story was written by Him, and He is the greatest author of all time.” “I’ve been healed by God, so I’m confident He can heal someone else.” I’m going to tell my story in the hopes of inspiring others to do the same.”

While her first single is a worshipful anthem made for crowds, it only reveals one facet of this multifaceted artist who is currently working on her debut album, drawing from her journal and well of life experiences.

Long before TikTok was even a social platform, Katy was singing in her church choir. By 14, she was writing songs and leading worship. Her relationship with both music and God is inextricably intertwined with her path to health and wholeness. At the invitation of Josh Havens, lead singer for The Afters, Katy began leading worship at The Grove in Phoenix, AZ, where Havens serves as a Worship & Arts Pastor. Havens saw something in Katy she couldn’t even see in herself at the time. She began writing, recording and posting her music online, which eventually led to her making a move to Nashville and landing a label home with Centricity Music.
